Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: May 8, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) describes activities that are prohibited on the Recordable Service. It is incorporated by reference into the Terms of Service and applies to all users (free, paid, and viewer accounts) and to any content uploaded, generated, or shared through the Service.
We keep this list short and concrete on purpose. If something on this page is unclear, write to abuse@recordable.ai before doing the thing.
Prohibited uses
You may not use the Service to:
Illegal or harmful content
- Create, store, or distribute content that is illegal under the law of any jurisdiction where it is accessed, including but not limited to child sexual abuse material, content that incites violence or terrorism, or content that promotes self-harm.
- Use the Service to harass, defame, threaten, or intimidate any individual or group.
- Capture or share intimate images, biometric data, or other sensitive personal data without the explicit consent of every person depicted.
Intellectual property
- Record or publish content that infringes another party’s copyright, trademark, trade-secret, patent, or other intellectual-property rights.
- Remove, obscure, or alter copyright notices, watermarks, or attributions inside content you do not own.
- Use Recordable to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract proprietary content from third-party services in a manner that breaches their terms of service.
Security and infrastructure abuse
- Upload, distribute, or link to malware, ransomware, viruses, or any software designed to interfere with the Service or another system.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service except under our published responsible-disclosure policy.
- Defeat or attempt to defeat rate limits, quotas, billing controls, or workspace isolation in the Service.
- Use the Service to mount denial-of-service, brute-force, or credential-stuffing attacks against any third party.
Spam and abuse of shared workflows
- Use shared-workflow links, comments, or invitations to send unsolicited bulk email, SMS, or other messages.
- Publish workflows whose primary purpose is to promote a product or service unrelated to Recordable to people who did not opt in.
- Create accounts using fictitious or another person’s identity, or share account credentials in violation of the Terms.
Automation and AI misuse
- Use Recordable’s AI features to generate misinformation, deepfakes of identifiable persons without consent, or content that impersonates a real entity to deceive.
- Run autonomous-agent workflows that take consequential actions (financial transactions, content moderation decisions, hiring decisions) without a documented human-in-the-loop step.
- Use the Service to systematically scrape personal data from third-party sites at a scale that the third party has not authorised.
Fair use of AI credits and storage
Paid plans include a pooled monthly allowance of AI credits and reasonable per-seat storage. Sustained use that exceeds 200% of your plan’s pooled allowance for two consecutive billing cycles will trigger a conversation about upgrading or restructuring your usage. We will not silently cut you off, but we may apply rate limits to keep the Service responsive for other customers.
We do not impose surprise overage fees. If you are at risk of exceeding a quota, your workspace owner will see an in-product warning at 80% utilisation.
Reporting abuse and takedown
If you believe content on a Recordable workflow violates this policy, the law, or your rights, send a takedown request to abuse@recordable.ai with: the URL of the workflow, a description of the violation, your contact information, and (for IP claims) a good-faith statement of authority to act on behalf of the rights holder.
We acknowledge takedown requests within two business days. Workflows that clearly violate this AUP (e.g. malware, CSAM, doxxing) are removed immediately while we investigate. Other complaints are assessed within ten business days; we will tell you the outcome and, where appropriate, give the workflow owner an opportunity to respond.
Enforcement
Depending on severity and history, we may: (a) warn the account owner, (b) temporarily disable the workflow or feature, (c) suspend the account, or (d) terminate the account and report it to the relevant authorities. We aim for proportionality, not for surprise. For first-time, low-severity issues, we always reach out before suspending an account, unless doing so would risk further harm.
We do not waive any rights under the Terms of Service by choosing a lighter-touch enforcement action in one case.
