Cookie Policy

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store on your device. They let the site remember things between visits (like whether you’re signed in or which language you picked) and, when you opt in, let us measure how the product is used so we can improve it.

This page lists every cookie and cookie-like identifier that recordable.ai and app.recordable.ai set, what it does, how long it lasts, and how you can turn it off.

2. How consent works

On your first visit we show a banner with three groups: strictly necessary, analytics and product, and advertising. Necessary only sets the cookies the Service cannot run without (authentication, language, the consent record itself). Choose lets you accept analytics, advertising, or both separately. Accept all accepts everything.

Your choice is stored in the cookie-consent cookie for one year and shared with app.recordable.ai so we only ask once. You can change or withdraw it at any time with the Cookie settings button below, by clearing that cookie in your browser, or by emailing privacy@recordable.ai. We will revoke any analytics or advertising identifiers associated with your session within 30 days.

3. Strictly necessary cookies

These are set whether or not you accept the banner. They are required for the Service to function and do not require consent under the ePrivacy Directive.

CookieSet byPurposeDuration
cookie-consentRecordableRemembers your cookie choice so we do not show the banner on every page load.1 year
NEXT_LOCALERecordableStores the language you picked so the site loads in that language next time.1 year
__session, __client_uatClerkAuthentication session that keeps you signed in to the app.Session / 7 days
recordable_hero_variantRecordablePins you to a single hero copy variant so the homepage does not flicker between A/B tests on repeat visits.30 days

4. Analytics and product cookies (consent required)

These cookies are only set when you click Accept all. They help us understand which pages convert, which features get stuck, and which marketing channels actually bring teams that publish their first workflow.

Cookie / IdentifierSet byPurposeDuration
_gaGoogle Analytics 4Google Analytics 4 client identifier for aggregate page-view and conversion measurement.2 years
_ga_*Google Analytics 4Google Analytics 4 session identifier.24 hours
ph_*_posthogPostHogPostHog anonymous distinct ID for product analytics and funnel tracking.1 year
ph_session_*PostHogPostHog session recording identifier. Input fields are masked by default.Session

5. Advertising cookies (consent required)

These are only set when you accept advertising. They let us see which LinkedIn ads bring people who go on to sign up. When you accept, we also send those conversions to LinkedIn from our own server through the LinkedIn Conversions API, including a hashed version of your email address if you create an account. We never send the address itself, and we send nothing at all if you decline.

Cookie / IdentifierSet byPurposeDuration
li_fat_idLinkedInLinkedIn’s click identifier, added to the address of the page you land on when you arrive from a LinkedIn ad.30 days
rl_li_fat_idRecordableOur own copy of that click identifier, readable on app.recordable.ai so a signup that finishes there can still be credited to the ad you clicked.30 days
bcookie, lidc, UserMatchHistoryLinkedInSet by the LinkedIn Insight Tag to recognise your browser between visits, measure ad performance, and build advertising audiences.Session to 1 year

6. Third-party services that may set cookies

Some pages load assets from third parties that can set their own cookies. We have configured each one to be as quiet as possible, but you should know they exist:

  • Stripe sets fraud-detection cookies on the checkout page when you start a paid subscription.
  • Cloudflare sets a cookie (__cf_bm) on every request to distinguish bots from real visitors. This is classified as strictly necessary by Cloudflare.
  • YouTube embeds product videos through youtube-nocookie.com, which does not set tracking cookies until you press play.

7. How to opt out

You have several options to disable analytics:

  • Click Necessary only on the consent banner, or use the Cookie settings button below to change or withdraw a choice at any time.
  • Enable Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control in your browser. PostHog respects both signals.
  • Use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to disable GA4 globally.
  • Email privacy@recordable.ai and we will revoke any analytics identifier we have linked to your account within 30 days.

8. Changes to this policy

If we add a new cookie, change the duration of an existing one, or start using a new analytics provider, we will update this page and the Last updated date above. Material changes that affect what we collect under your existing consent will trigger a fresh banner.

9. Contact

Questions about a specific cookie, or about how to revoke consent for an account we cannot identify from your browser alone? Email privacy@recordable.ai.
